For anyone doing this, make sure you take the bottom of the ecu off as well. It'll bee way more oil bound than the top.

Be careful what sealers you use on the ecu as some bath type silicone gives off a vapour when setting that can eat way copper components there are electrical type silicone from R/S

See this is the type of trails we have down in the desert of arizona. Literally the same some steeper some flat. This is where I tell some of the other Land Rover guys online that getting lockers can help when they insist that CDL and traction control are all you need and you just need to learn more about driving better. I've been on Hills just like that but much steeper the entire climb and when it starts to spin and the traction control grabs that grab makes your truck want to flip back because it's sudden torque when lockers would just roll smooth and easy. This is a great example of what I was trying to tell some people the Land Rover CDL and traction control is obviously great I shouldn't even mention CDL that's just basically 4x4 the ones without make no sense that they would sell it that way but anyways yeah lockers have a place for keeping smooth rolling forward motion. Sometimes spitting and grabbing is dangerous not just a slight hindrance

Impressive climbing ability from the disco 2's. What spec are they?

Just recently done it in other direction, was a good lane till the end, it's completely chewed up just before you get on the road, if we knew it was that bad at the end we would have skipped it. We all go through with no further damage to the lane as we winched and just took it steady.

Hi John well certainly looked like P.O.I around valve tower and one i'm not as familiar with as mine does not have it but possibly Terrain follow coming up the grassy side of the Dam wall. I also thought you were using dronie mode doing that reverse flying shot out from edge of overflow, but im not sure if phantom has this so that may of been manual.

Does it need the CDL? All i know is the only two times i've taken my Disco 2 off road to it got stuck in places my old Disco 1 with it's CDL engaged never did!

Hey my td5 has just developed what I think is a miss fire when it’s under load at about 2000rpm there is an Instant loss in power it’s worse up hill I tried the waste gate but it is nice and free just wondering if this is the same symptoms as what you had I’m from castle side you’ve probably saw me driving about an orange disco 2 hope to hear back soon :)

I've had 2 TD5's and both have had this problem at $A90/hr to get fixed it didn't take me long to sus out this problem and I'm very happy to see that someone has gone to to trouble to publish a vid of the fix. Well done

Good video. May have to a go on mine. Did the sealant you used have acetone in it? This can corrode the connections in the ECU apparently.

Have you got diff lockers?

WTF was landrover thinking by not including this on ALL years. Even with the CDL these things struggle off-road in serious stuff, the traction system is VERY limiting but better than nothing.
